Turkey Pleasantly located astride a river in a steep mountain valley, Amasya is a pleasant place to relax off the main tourist track. There isn't all that much to see or do, other than to look around, but that's part of the appeal. The Ottoman style housing along the river, the cloud topped mountains, the river, the castle and the hillside tombs combine to make a very appealing setting.
