Egypt Noted primarily as a cruise destination up the Nile, and as a launching point for trips down south to the temple at Abu Simbel, Aswan as an attractive spot to spend some time. Views over the Nile are great, if you can ignore the touts wanting to take you on their falucas, and there are a few old tombs to explore across on the western side of the river.
