Australia About the same size as Perth these days (or so I'm told), Brisbane has much more of a big city feel to it, which may be a pro or con depending on your perspective. The riverside "beach" is amusing and there are pleasant cafes down the main walking mall in the central city, although the cafes out in the Westend are more laid back and NZ style.
