Australia Bunbury is a convenient stopping off point south of Perth, although there isn't so much to draw you to it for other reasons.
The Dolphin's Rest is a small, but pleasant place to stay. The kitchen is a little crowded and you don't get a lot for the $60 it costs for a double room, but it's OK in most regards.
