Litang
Region:
China Litang is out west in Sichuan province, more Tibetan than Han Chinese. The main street won't appeal, but step back you'll be surrounded in Tibetan architecture immediately.
A local Buddhist monastary on the hill above town is well worth checking out; construction continues, which adds to the experience.
A hot spring sits to the west of town, which is an added plus; the weather here, even in Summer, is not warm.
