Soltaniyeh

Region:
Iran

In between Zangan and Qazvin lies Soltaniyeh, with a huge mausoleum that was intended at one point in time to house the remains of Ali, the son in law of Mohommad. Didn't pan out, but the place is worth a look anyway.

As far as I know, there are no hotels here. It's a very small town.

There are a couple of other tombs nearby, Chalbi Oghli Tomb and Mola Hasan Kashi Tomb. They're in bad nick, but also worth a look. If the Chalbi Oghli tomb looks shut up, ring the doorbell. I was let in and shown around, no money asked (and refused when offered).
