Trencin
Region:
Slovakia Trenchin is a cute little town north along the main trunk train line from Bratislava. A beautiful castle perches above the cobbled streets of the old town below.
Accomodation is a huge drop down from Bratislava. Right in town, the Pension Svorad can hook you up in a room for 650 crowns. The room comes with five beds, so perhaps in busier times it's a room full of people for that price. Anyway, that's still too much for me, so I found a place further out, about 10 minutes walk, for 250 crowns a night for my own room. It wasn't exciting, but it was clean enough, and someone in the building had an unsecured wireless network (handy for those of us needing to work).
