Warsaw seems more like a modern city than the rest that I've seen in Poland. Of course, that's 'cause I've been doing the tourist thing and sitting in the old city area in each city I go to, but hey, they're the best parts :)

Prices are reasonable, food is plentiful and the girls are cute. Staying at the Oki Doki Hostel, which has a great central location, free internet and free coffee. Breakfast is not included, which is a litte disappointing given that it normally is here, but the staff are friendly and the places is clean and nicely decorated.

The Orange hostel is another good choice. It's reasonably new and they're considering expanding, but the prices are the same as Oki Doki and you get breakfast thrown it. It's further from the old town, but you're only going there once anyway.

The old city, as everywhere, is very attractive, with a big art market in the Rynek, at least on Sundays. Sundays also get you free entry into the reconstructed Royal Palace (very luxurious - again, rebuilt post WW2), well worth checking out even if you have to pay.
