Apparently a popular spot for western tourists, Kashgar seems mainly convenient as a launching point for Pakistan, plus a multitude of Central Asian countries.
The Sunday Market is the major local attraction, but it doesn't stand out amidst the markets of the world, or even those of Asia. Perhaps the livestock market, same day, is a more exciting event.
The Seman hotel was where we ended up, passable at 30 for a six bed dorm with western toilet, TV and your own bathroom. However, the Noor Bish, a smaller affair looked much more pleasant, with a shady plant filled courtyard; unfortunately it was full when we arrived, pre-Sunday market.
