Places of Interest in Amman
Amman
While not a particularly impressive city, Amman does have a few sights worth seeing and makes a convenient base for exploring the northern areas of Jordan. It's a more pleasant place in the spring and summer months than in the middle of winter, when its pleasantly mild climate makes it a welcome escape from the heat of the neighbouring countries.

Location:AmmanA pleasant enough inner city spot, with a cool balcony. Coffee 0.5 JOD, nargileh 1.5 JOD. A good spot to relax during the heat of the day.
al-Wahadat Bus Station

Location:AmmanBus station for departures to the south, including Aqaba and Wadi Musa (for Petra). The price to Wadi Musa should be no more than four pounds - disregard any requests for extra for your bags, put them in the aisle like everyone else.
