Aqaba
Transit point for Egypt and Israel, Aqaba is a somewhat popular destination for locals but not for foreigners; the Egyptian side of the Gulf of Aqaba is more pleasant. If you do feel like hanging around on the beach, head to the south beach area, about 10km south of Aqaba proper.

Location:Aqaba- Only one minibus a day to Wadi Rum, departure time is apparently variable, but around midday.

Location:AqabaBuy your tickets here, rather than in town at the AB Maratime office; we had to switch to the slow ferry, as the sea was rough and the fast one wasn't going that day, but no refund was available. On the other hand, we did get bumped to first class and given a cabin, which was definitely a blessing given that the slow ferry took 15 hours to arrive...
