Places to Stay in Aqaba
Aqaba
Transit point for Egypt and Israel, Aqaba is a somewhat popular destination for locals but not for foreigners; the Egyptian side of the Gulf of Aqaba is more pleasant. If you do feel like hanging around on the beach, head to the south beach area, about 10km south of Aqaba proper.
Places to Stay
al-Naher al-Khaled Hotel
elyobo — Sat, 14/02/2009 - 10:02pm
Rooms are acceptable - single, double and tripple are available. However, prices are high, with 18 JOD/night requested for the tripple and 16 JOD/night for the double. Prices seemed non-negotiable.
Jerusalem Hotel

I couldn't find anyone at reception when I wandered up there, but it was cleaning time, so I checked out a few rooms. Most are terrible prison cell like things, but if there are a few of you, there are two bright rooms with four beds each out the front which might be worth investigating.
Jordan Flower Hotel
elyobo — Thu, 12/02/2009 - 11:59pm
Jordan Flower is basic, but cheap. Rooms prices were 13 to 18, although discounts are likely. The cheapest rooms come with shared bathroom (June thinks they were filthy; they seemed fine to me), although most come with a cable TV as well.
Petra Hotel
elyobo — Sat, 14/02/2009 - 10:06pm
Basic double rooms with bathroom attached for 15 JOD/night. Prices seem to be non-negotiable.
