Things to Do in Raqqa
Raqqa
Raqqa is a reasonably pleasant little town, although you won't notice that if you stick to the area near the bus station. Continue north from the clock tower, off the edge of the LP map, to find a more attractive and lively side to Raqqa.
There's not much of excitement near the town itself, but the sites of Qala'at Ja'abar and Rasafa are reasonably nearby.
Things to Do
Qala'at Ja'abar

Location:RaqqaPrice:150/10 SYP full/studentThe position is scenic, but the castle is probably not worth paying the various costs required to get here and get in (150/10 Full/Student). The surrounding walls have been restored, and some strange sort of tower inexplicably built in the middle, but otherwise it's not so exciting.
Rasafa

Location:RaqqaPrice:Possible 75/5 SYP full/student, possibly freeAn amazing walled city out into the desert, Rasafa was the highlight of the east for me. Restoration and excavation has been done over the last few years, and you can now walk along large sections of the walls. The main cathedral, the cisterns and the main gate are all highlights, but just exploring the massive sight can take hours.
