Things to Do in Amasya
Amasya
Pleasantly located astride a river in a steep mountain valley, Amasya is a pleasant place to relax off the main tourist track. There isn't all that much to see or do, other than to look around, but that's part of the appeal. The Ottoman style housing along the river, the cloud topped mountains, the river, the castle and the hillside tombs combine to make a very appealing setting.
Things to Do
Ozel Sehzadeler Muzesi / Tourist Information
elyobo — Mon, 11/05/2009 - 11:44pm
Location:AmasyaPrice:2 YTLAn interesting audiovisual display briefly covering the history of the Ottoman rulers that had lived in Amasya. Manequins of each of the rulers are also shown, along with appropriate period costume.
Apparently this is also the tourist information for the town; they gave us a map of the town, but didn't seem to speak much English.
Sultan II Bayazit Camii

Location:AmasyaPrice:FreeNot so much to see here, but worth a peek as you're wandering around the town. The former madrassa is now apparently a public library, but appeared very much closed when we went past.
Tombs of the Kings

Location:AmasyaPrice:3 YTLThe best views of these are from across the river in Amasya proper; walking up here doesn't really get you anything more than you see from there.
