Trabzon

Trabzon is a surprisingly appealing city on the Black Sea coast in the far North East of Turkey. The main drawcard is the impressive Sumela Monastery nearby, but there are some other sights around the town (although we had no time to see them) and the town itself, with a relaxing town square and plenty of eateries, encourages you to sit down and take your time.

Places to Stay

50 YTL for a double room. Wireless is available. Tours to Sumela Monastery are offered here at the same price as booking directly at the bus company.

Emperyal Hotel

elyobo — Tue, 12/05/2009 - 3:23am

Location:
Trabzon
Price:
30 YTL double w/bathroom

Good budget option at 30 YTL for a double with bathroom. Double beds are actually pretty small though, and the wireless is a little sketchy.

Nadar Hotel

elyobo — Tue, 12/05/2009 - 3:25am

Location:
Trabzon
Price:
70 YTL double w/bathroom

Good buffet breakfast, some english speaking staff and very clean rooms. The lobby is more impressive than the rooms themselves. Ignore the posted rates on the wall and ask for a discount - the double cost us 70 YTL.
