Esfahan
Esfahan is the highlight of almost any tour to Iran, with some of the best architecture that the country has to offer. It's displayed in the mosques, in the bazaar, the bridges and especially surrounding Naghsh-e Jahan Square. Unfortunately, as tourist number climb higher, prices here are rising even faster than the 25% inflation in Iran, and the friendly Irani culture is harder to find.

180,000 IRR for a double w/shared bathroom and breakfast Through a lack of other options, the Amir Kabir is probably the best budget place to stay in Esfahan. The owners were much friendlier on this visit than previous, so maybe they've perked up. Rooms are variable in quality, but the bathrooms are generally clean. Breakfast is included, but is pretty basic.
