Places to stay: Hostel Mostel is good value, with free beer, breakfast and dinner thrown in. It's one of the odd places that seem to be cheaper if you book online (hostelworld.com) than if you go to them directly...

Things to do: Don't really know yet, haven't done so much! Vitosha is right next door and is meant to be good fun when there's enough snow (unlike, say, right now, damnit). It's also apparently a great view, when the weather is good (see previous curse about not right now etc.).
