Things to Do in Budapest
Budapest
Famous Budapest, capital of Hungary. It's an attractive city, with many beautiful old buildings and great scenery along the banks of the Danube.
Things to do: Walk across to the Buda side and check out the Citadel, Castle and churches along the hills. The view back over the city is great (see photos) and there's plenty to see up on the hills as well.
There are baths all over town; I haven't been to many, just the big ones, but they seem like an excellent way to spend the day, especially as it gets colder. I'm hanging out for snow; snow + hot pools = heaven.
There are plenty of great buildings to check out on the Pest side of things as well, see the Parliament and St Istvan's.
Places to stay: Look up the Green Bridge Apartments. Prices are good (better if you book online), location is good, staff are both attractive and pleasant, coffee is tasty and free, internet is wireless and free. All in all, a good deal.
