I Found Scales

elyobo — Sat, 22/09/2007 - 12:25am

Location:
Vientiane

In an amusing incident, I found some scales in a restaurant in Vang Vieng the other day. Bearing in mind that the scales could be wrong, it appears that I've dropped to 68 kilograms now. That's 17 less than when I left NZ, about 20, of my weight gone.

In other news, I'm planning to start marketing a new diet system once I get home. Clients will be supplied with three month return tickets to India at double what it cost me. A discount plan will also be provided, where I supply them my special "diet water" (made in India).

Anyhow, things are going well. Being back in Laos is great. The scenery is much more beautiful this time around; it's not slash-and-burn season like last time I was here, things are green and the air is clear. No ashes falling from the sky in Luang Prabang this time!

Still no tickets home, although it's looking like I'll have to pay some ungodly amount because cheap tickets don't exist. About $NZ850 is the best I've found for a one way ticket yet, although I'm happy to buy a return for $NZ1200 or so. You can do NZ to Thailand and back for that price, but not the other way, ooooooh no. C'est la vie.

I'm going to get a Beer Lao. Gotta get my weight back up some way, even if it will be located entirely in my beer gut...
