So, finally my time in Europe draws to an end. Plans have changed considerably along the way; originally, as most of you know, I was to work in France for the ski season, then probably find more permanent professional work again. Ah, well, c'est le vie (as I would probably be able to say with a half decent accent by now, had I actually stuck to plans). The winter did not oblige my snowboarding urges (leaving me lugging a very heavy set of gear, all up) and besides, it sounded like far too much work for far too little money or fun. Perhaps Canada will be the lucky recipient of my next snowboard trip, it sounds like more fun over there.

Europe has been great anyway. Seeing as I skipped the work-in-France part, I've been able to travel far more extensively in Central and Eastern Europe than I initally planned to, and I've certainly no regrets on that front. It's been great, perhaps not as high in my esteem as SE Asia, to be fair, but it's winter here and cold... And more expensive! Bulgaria is probably my favourite, although I really do regret not taking more time out to see Slovenia and Croatia. So here is where I've been, today I leave from Plovdiv into the East and the famous city of Istanbul (leaving aside questions of whether it's East or West).

As an aside, I've added some extra Google Maps magic to the travel section so you can now see the path of travel, as well as the places visited. I'll tack on something that gives exact dates some time soon, but that means I'll have to figure out exactly when I was in each place, and that's much harder than writing code and just putting them in the right order, as I've currently done!

If anyone spots any cheap tickets from Thailand to NZ (return) somewhere in the September/October time frame let me know!
