Wetness

elyobo — Wed, 24/05/2006 - 2:25am

Location:
Ranong

Looks like the wet season has come early. I've talked to a few people in the know, and this is apparently not just freak weather and they think it's here to stay.

Also, apparently Ranong province (of which my currently location, Ranong, is the capital) is apparently the wettest part of Thailand. So, yeah, I'm wet.

Given that I was wet anyway, I decided to capitalise on this and spent a couple of hour this afternoon sitting in saunas and hot spas. There are hot pools nearby up a couple of gorges; see the Ranong section for more details.

I'm going to continue north again and check out Cambodia, hopefully picking up a new camera on my way through Bangkok so that you can feast your eyes on Angkor Wat as it glistens in the rain.

For those curious about the weather here, I recommend the BBC and Wunderground for seeing exactly how wet it is here. I find comfort only in the fact that most of you reading this are in New Zealand I know that it's wet and cold there!
