Although arguably a part of Europe, Turkey sits in both worlds, and the transition is plain so see as you travel across the country. In the west of the country, especially along the Mediterranean coast, it's a relatively weather place (more so than nearby European neighbours such as Bulgaria and Romania) but it becomes another world along towards Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq and Syria.
