The former location of the first and second Jewish temples of the old testament and the current location of the Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock shrine. Non-muslims are forbidden entry on Fridays and Saturdays and opening hours on other days are somewhat sporadic. Try coming early (around 7.30am) morning or early afternoon (around 1.30pm). There should be a sign up with the theoretical opening hours, but they won't necessarily be correct.

The entrance is near the Western Wall, but just outside the eastern entrance.
